New 2020 Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC® Sedan

The 255-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine combines numerous advances to deliver more power from less fuel. Its rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection can fine-tune themselves every few milliseconds to optimize performance, efficiency and emissions. An intercooled twin-scroll turbocharger and CAMTRONIC variable valve lift help deliver all of the engine's 273 lb-ft of torque from just 1,800 rpm, for vigorous response when taking off, merging or passing. An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time. With a greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears, the 9-speed automatic changes gears more quickly yet more smoothly, too. The lighter, more versatile transmission enhances quiet riding comfort and fuel-efficiency. The electronic selector and shift paddles let you control all gear changes with your hands on the steering wheel. And drivers can vary the shift modes via the innovative DYNAMIC SELECT system. A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Four modes (ECO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+) alter the throttle response, shift points, steering effort and ECO Start/Stop system. A fifth Individual mode allows you to create a mode of your own, even letting you set the transmission for purely manual shifting.

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you find your ideal driving position, including 4-way power lumbar support. The driver seat also includes a power-adjustable thigh support. A memory system for the driver seat recalls three stored positions for the seat plus the power steering column and side mirrors. Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 0.0002-inch from entering the cabin.

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds. The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST®(R) continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

A 10.25-inch high-resolution central screen is paired with crisp analog gauges flanking a vivid color instrument cluster display. Both screens present driving systems, vehicle settings and convenience features with lifelike illustration and animations. Together with the steering-wheel Touch Control Buttons and console controller, they make even the most advanced features quickly feel like second nature. A wider central screen offers more easily visible readouts, navigation maps and illustrated and animated menus. Measuring more than 10 inches diagonally, the display is mounted atop the center dash to stay close to your sightlines, yet its slim, visor-free design stays vivid in sunlight and elegant all the time. Split-screen options let you display multiple functions at once and you can access the screen via the console controller or right Touch Control Button on the steering wheel. Innovative Touch Controls elevate the multifunction steering wheel to an unparalleled level of user-friendliness.
